Q: What documents do I need to travel to the United States?
A: A valid passport or other valid document* is required when travelling between Canada and the United States. Please check with Canadian Border Services Agency and the US Bureau of Consular Affairs for specific details. *a Nexus Card is considered a valid document
Q: What time should I arrive at the airport for my flight?
A: 3 hours before your flight is scheduled to depart is recommended for passengers travelling to the United States to allow enough time for security screening.
Q: Can I check-in electronically?
A: This would depend on whether your airline offers check-in options via the web or mobile. There are check-in kiosks available in both Terminals 1 and 3.
Q: What are the regulations for carry-on luggage?
A: When travelling to the United States you are allowed one piece of carry-on luggage that can't be larger than 23cm X 40cm X 55cm. However, essential items such as medication or medical devices and life sustaining items are permitted. Other permissible items include: cameras, laptops, walkers, care items for infants, canes, containers carrying life sustaining items and special needs items.
Q: What do I do with items that I can't take on board?
A: Your options include discarding the item, placing it in your checked luggage or storing it at the airport's Travel Store. The Travel Store gives travellers the option to mail the item to a chosen address.
Q: Can I shop in the terminals while waiting for my flight?
A: Yes. Terminal 1 & 3 restaurants and shops, including duty free remain open to serve you.
