Toronto, May 1st 2009 - Last month India Tourism officially launched their 2009 mobile advertising campaign; featured are two Toronto Airport Express buses covered with magnificent images of the country. The two Airport Express buses will follow the regular service schedule between Toronto’s downtown core and Lester B. Pearson International Airport. Though downtown Toronto can be rather lively any day of the week; these vibrantly decorated buses are sure to catch the attention of even the most undiscerning eye.
According to India’s Director of Tourism in Toronto, Ronjon Lahiri - Canadian visitors to India no longer only consist of “visiting friends and relatives.” India is now the destination of choice for various ethnic markets, such as Chinese, Italian, Portuguese and French Canadian to name just a few. The increased popularity of India for Canadians is most evident in the number of visitors - Lahiri said 176,000 Canadians visited India in 2006 and increased to 208,000 in 2007.
The “Incredible India” campaign will continue to run in the Greater Toronto Area throughout 2009. India Tourism currently has plans to hold similar campaigns in other major Canadian cities.
