Important Service Update - G20 Summit
Toronto, June 10th 2010 - As preparations continue for this month's G20 Summit, traffic delays are becoming an obstacle for vehicles traveling within downtown Toronto. This week, city personnel began placing the concrete barriers that will comprise the security perimeter leading up to and during the G20 Summit. Due to this, traffic flow throughout the downtown core has been affected causing road closures and related travel delays.
On June 25th the York, Bay and Yonge Street exits of the Gardiner Expressway will be closed. The eastbound Gardiner Expressway will be closed on June 25th and 26th.The York Street ramp onto the westbound Gardiner Expressway will be closed on June 27th. Additional road closures may occur to accommodate marches or protest activity.
The anticipated road closures will limit the flow of traffic to a large degree. Specifically, roadways bordered by King Street, Yonge Street, Queens Quay and Spadina Avenue will be affected. Due to this travellers can expect temporary changes to the Toronto Airport Express service.
