Important Service Update - G20 Summit
Toronto, June 16th 2010 - Due to the G20 Summit, several downtown Toronto attractions and buildings will be closed leading up to and during the June 26th and 27th summit.
G20 Related Closures
- CN Tower - The CN Tower will be closed to the public June 25, 26 and 27.
- Rogers Centre - The Blue Jays' home series vs Phillies was moved to Philadelphia
- Downtown Toronto Hotels: InterContinental, Strathcona Hotel, The Fairmont Royal York, The Westin Harbour Castle, Renaissance Toronto Hotel, Hyatt Regency, Sheraton Hotel - All have been booked for the summit
- The Ontario Legislative Building - Queen's Park will be closed
- University of Toronto - The downtown campus will be closed and any previously scheduled exams will be rescheduled
- The Art Gallery of Ontario - closing early on Friday June 25 at 4 p.m. and will remain closed for June 26 and 27
- Downtown Toronto Bars/Restaurants - Downtown patios will be closed two weeks before the summit begins
- Kensington Market - Pedestrian Sundays will not take place on June 27
Please remember that the downtown area bounded by the streets of: Spadina to the West, King to the North, Yonge to the East and Queen's Quay to the South will comprise the traffic controlled zone. Travelling within this "outer security perimeter" is permitted, but is expected to be difficult and time consuming. It is suggested that individuals avoid the area in and around the traffic zone during the summit. View the current G20 Summit security map.
